HANYS Holds “Proud To Provide” Annual Membership Conference
ALBANY, N.Y. — The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) will hold its annual membership conference October 15-17 at The Sagamore on Lake George in Bolton Landing. This year’s meeting, Proud to Provide, focuses on pressing health care issues such as reforming the health care system and addressing the health care workforce shortage.
Members of the media are invited to the conference on Thursday, October 16 to cover conference sessions and the HANYS Annual Awards Dinner, where HANYS will present its Distinguished Service Award, Pinnacle Award for Quality Improvement, and Community Health Improvement Award. The October 16 conference sessions are:
- Excellence in Workforce: The Leadership Perspective, 8:00 a.m., presented by Tyler Norris, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Initiatives, LLC.
- Organized Labor’s Corporate Campaign Against Health Care, 8:00 a.m., presented by Jarol Manheim, Ph.D., Professor of Media and Public Affairs and Political Science, George Washington University.
- Get Wired! What it Takes to be the Most Wired Hospitals in the Nation, 8:00 a.m., presented by Benjamin Chu, M.D., President, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation; Pete Velez, Executive Director, Elmhurst Hospital Center and Senior Vice President, Queens Health Network; and a representative from Maimonides Medical Center.
- What Every CEO Should Know About Accessing Capital, 8:00 a.m., presented by Edward Shapoff, Vice President, Goldman Sachs & Co.
- Keynote Address, 9:00 a.m., delivered by American Hospital Association President Dick Davidson.
