Healthcare Trustees Of New York State Elects 2006 Officers And New Board Members
ALBANY, N.Y.—The Board of Governors of Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS) has elected its 2006 chairman, officers, and board members.
Steven L. Albertalli, a trustee and past president of the Board of Directors of Corning Hospital, was elected Chairman of the HTNYS Board, effective January 1.
The Board elected the following officers to serve one-year terms:
· Vice Chair—Lise Hunter, Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) Health Care Network, Inc., Brooklyn;
· Secretary/Treasurer—Richard H. Hawks, Jr., Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of Thompson Health; and
· Immediate Past Chair—Carlos P. Naudon, Trustee at The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
The Board also elected the following new board members to serve two-year terms:
· Rose Birtley—A trustee of Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, Ms. Birtley has been instrumental in helping promote and raise funds for numerous hospital programs and community services. She has owned and operated her own businesses, including R&R Associates, a consulting firm specializing in aviation and transportation safety issues. She is also President of The Alliance Against Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma, Inc., a non-profit organization that assists children and young adults affected by this cancer. Ms. Birtley is the recipient of numerous community and civic awards including recognition by the Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives for her work and dedication as a hospital trustee.
· Arthur Dawson, Ph.D.—A trustee of New York Hospital Queens, Dr. Dawson serves on several committees at New York Hospital Queens including the Executive, Patient Safety, Finance, Real Estate, Risk and Claims, and Audit committees. He was recently elected to the Borough Council of Glen Ridge in New Jersey and serves as Chairman of the Borough Planning and Development Committee. He serves as Secretary of the Glen Ridge Education Foundation and is a past Chairman of the North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society.
Healthcare Trustees of New York State is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to strengthening the governance of New York’s non-profit and public health care facilities. HTNYS is governed by a board of 25 trustees from health care facilities across the state and is an affiliate of the Healthcare Association of New York State.
