HANYS Broadens Leadership Team With New Physician Vice President Position
Jerry Salkowe, M.D., Joins Staff as V.P. of Clinical Affairs
ALBANY, N.Y. – With 30 years experience in group practice and managed care, Jerry Salkowe, M.D., has joined the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) as the new Vice President for Clinical Affairs.
“Dr. Salkowe will focus on developing relationships with hospital physician leaders to facilitate the transition in key health delivery reforms,” said HANYS President Daniel Sisto. “Representation of the physician’s perspective is essential as providers evolve to better integrate clinical staff.”
Dr. Salkowe will also play a key role in the New York State Partnership for Patients initiative, particularly around organizational culture and leadership.
Before joining HANYS, Dr. Salkowe served on the medical staffs of Ellis, St. Peter’s, Saratoga, and Glens Falls hospitals. He has also served on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the Board of Directors for AIM Services, a not-for-profit agency that provides services to developmentally disabled individuals in the Saratoga area.
Dr. Salkowe is a Clinical Associated Professor for the State University of New York School of Public Health and Clinical Assistant Professor for Albany Medical College. He has also held medical leadership roles with MVP Health Care, HealthNow NY, Group Health Inc., Kaiser Permanente, and the Community Health Plan.
Dr. Salkowe received his medical degree and residency training at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
