Administrative Assistant - Human Resources

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a full-time Assistant to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to Human Resources and general organizational support by maintaining the reception area including receiving and directing all incoming telephone calls and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree preferred; HS Diploma with equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Minimum of two years front desk reception/administrative support experience required.
  • Two years related experience in HR preferred.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
  • Able to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills with a concierge mindset when greeting and handling guests in person and over the phone.
  • Demonstrated competency Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentially.

HANYS Benefit Services (HBS), a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State, is seeking a full-time Account Representative. HBS is a well-established, institutional retirement plan and employee benefits advisor . Client retirement plan assets exceed $4.6 billion, with a majority of our clients located in New York State. The Account Representative will report to the Account Manager, Retirement Services and is primarily responsible for servicing our retirement clients including participant enrollment, ongoing educational retirement, and investment meetings, and resolving service issues. Our Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is motivated, enthusiastic and has exceptional interpersonal and long term relationship building skills.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree and/or outside customer service experience preferred.
  • New York State Life and Health license and FINRA Series 6 & 63 required or obtained within three months post hire.

  • Provides a high level of customer service to retirement plan clients (we define our client as the employer/retirement plan sponsor).
  • Supervises staff in the performance of all responsibilities including employee education and enrollment activities within client facilities

Healthcare Data Analyst

DataGen, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst. DataGen offers a variety of health care data analytics, software solutions, and support to individual hospitals, state hospital and health care associations, and multi-state health care systems. This position reports to the Senior Director and is primarily responsible for performing analyses and computer programming to support DataGen's healthcare analytic services and products. Key aspects of the position include:

  • Analyzing health care data, using the latest computer processing techniques for economic, financial and quality projects and analytic reports.
  • Programming, formatting and/or modifying analyses using SQL, SAS, or complex Excel functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Dimension, PivotTables, IF/THEN statements, graphs, etc.)

Our ideal candidate will have a strong degree of professionalism with advanced skills in communication as well as the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision, to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make substantive contributions to division and organization excellence.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in healthcare, finance, economics, or mathematics.
  • 2 – 3 years' experience in a position involving the application of techniques of economic analysis, statistics, financial, and/or information analysis in a health-related field (particularly the hospital industry).
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and math skills.
  • Experience with SQL, SAS and Excel for analyzing large data sets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with external clients and internal teams.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task.

Preferred:

  • A graduate degree in Health Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database structure and queries.
