Executive Assistant, Finance

The Healthcare Association of New York State seeks an Executive Assistant to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Finance Department.

Associate’s degree in a related field preferred. Ten years of executive assistant experience required. Prior experience as an executive assistant to a C-level position and experience in a finance/accounting environment is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. This position requires a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality, and strong attention to detail. Ability to plan and work efficiently, work in a team environment, and work under pressure, required.

Director, Federal Relations, Governmental Affairs

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Director in our Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities include supporting the VP of Federal Relations in representing HANYS members' federal legislative and regulatory positions to the New York State Congressional Delegation; communicate federal advocacy information to HANYS members and the HANYS Board of Trustees; implement grassroots lobbying activities. In addition, assist in state and federal health information technology initiatives (HIT) initiatives and actively engage other DC-based state hospital associations and DC-based national hospital associations.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, and at least three years of health care, business, and/or public policy related experience Knowledge of legislative process and public policy arena as is strong writing, analytical, communications and interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of health care policy, financing and health information technology issues affecting hospitals, health systems, and continuing care providers, preferred. Ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet aggressive deadlines, and work collaboratively with external constituents, members, and staff. Periodic Travel.
