VP, Communications & Marketing Strategy

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Vice President, Communications and Marketing Strategy to join our organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this position is primarily responsible for developing strategies and overseeing implementation of the Association's communications and marketing programs for all audiences and target markets encompassing the following portfolio: corporate communications, media relations, public relations, electronic communications, marketing, print shop operations, and all related production activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and innovative communications professional adept at:

  • Partnering with senior management to create and execute short and long-term communications and marketing plans.
  • Enhancing information flow in a membership, advocacy, mission-driven environment.
  • Proactively devising timely messaging in times of crisis and uncertainty, as applicable.
  • Applying critical thinking and sound judgment to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred) with at least ten years of related experience at a senior manager level, as well as:

  • Proven ability to establish and foster key relationships.

Programmer/Analyst

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Programmer/Analyst to join our Information Services (IS) team. Reporting to the CIO/Vice President of IS, this position is primarily responsible for:

  • Application maintenance – minor enhancements, problem investigation/resolution, and application tuning.
  • Application development – analysis of business requirements, design, specification, development, testing, and application production implementation (including post implementation review and assessment).
  • Application support – primary support and maintenance of multiple business application systems and databases.
  • Project management – leading projects to implement new systems or functions including participation in build vs. buy recommendations, vendor/product selection, and providing work direction to contractors and staff.
  • Innovation – bringing forward opportunities to improve delivery, provide a better user experience, and identify new technologies for consideration and investment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced programming professional with strong technical skills who is enthusiastic about making positive contributions in a team environment and providing top-notch customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least five years of programming experience, as well as:

  • Experience with full SDLC application development including Web, App development, Web services
  • SQL Server experience required. Oracle experience a plus
  • SQL Server administration and Oracle administration highly desirable
  • Experience with AMS (Association Management Software) or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software highly desirable. AMS preferred
  • Proficiency in one or more reporting applications required - SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) preferred
  • Proficiency in one or more preferred programming languages: .NET (VB.net, C#), ColdFusion, HTML/XHTML(HTML5), XML, Java
  • Project lead experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train less experienced staff desirable.

Senior Data Services Analyst

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Senior Data Services Analyst to join our Information Services (IS) team. Reporting to the CIO/Vice President of IS, this position is primarily responsible for:

  • Database support – primary support and maintenance of multiple Oracle and SQL databases in a highly regulated environment.
  • Database maintenance – minor enhancements, test database management, problem investigation/resolution, query generation and tuning in support of business analyst data access and utilization.
  • Database design – new and modified database architecture and data model development, analysis of business requirements and use cases, designing for performance, scale, and information security.
  • Technical liaison – providing work direction and oversight for technical DBA consultants and service providers.
  • Project management – leading database projects including estimating work, providing technical specifications, analyzing alternatives, and providing technical direction for data analysts, programmers, and DBAs.
  • Innovation – bringing forward opportunities to improve delivery, provide a better user experience, and identify new technologies for consideration and investment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data services professional with strong technical skills who is enthusiastic about making positive contributions in a team environment and providing top-notch customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least four years of programming or application DBA experience, as well as:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Oracle database design is required. Proficiency in other relational database designs (SQL) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in scripting tools (PL/SQL, SQL) and Microsoft Excel (including macro programming and file import/export) is required. Proficiency in PowerPivot is desirable.
  • Full system development life cycle (SDLC) experience required. Intermediate level (design, code, debug) skills in .NET and Visual Basic required.
  • Additional relevant programming languages (Java, ColdFusion, C, C#, C++, HTML/XHTML) are desirable.
  • Experience working with Oracle tools such as Diagnostics   Tuning, Advance Compression, Data Integrator, and Advanced Security required.
  • Must have an extensive knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts.
  • Good oral and written communications skills required as well as the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make substantive contributions to division and organization excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Economics, Finance and Information, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the review and analysis of issues of importance to the financial and economic interests of the health care industry, including:

Qualifications:
