Hauppauge, NY 11788

10 a.m. - noon
(Check-in time: 9:30 - 10 a.m.)

Join HANYS and the Suburban Hospital Alliance of New York State (SHANYS) to discuss critical healthcare issues impacting your organization. HANYS’ leadership team will be in the Northern Metropolitan and Long Island regions to share key health policy initiatives and trends, hear directly from you, and discuss advocacy strategies.

HANYS’ Regional Policy Forums provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss the specific issues and challenges impacting healthcare in your community in order to inform our advocacy agenda and strategies. HANYS will bring to you the latest developments in healthcare and share our perspectives on major upcoming issues, trends occurring in healthcare, and how each may impact your region and organization.

The agenda includes:

  • A discussion with HANYS’ President and Executive Vice President on state and federal policy issues, including the important advocacy and tricky political landscape as we prepare for 2016.

  • Discussions with HANYS’ policy experts and leaders on:

    • myriad payment reform initiatives, including value-based payment approaches by Medicaid and Medicare (via Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment program and the Affordable Care Act), as well as the state’s efforts to push similar reforms (via State Health Innovation Plan/CMS’ State Innovation Models initiative) in the commercial space;

    • trends in commercial insurance, including enrollment, financial performance, and impact of potential merger/acquisitions;

    • delivery system reform issues, including health system trends, advanced primary care, population health, and quality and patient safety issues, including high reliability; and

    • health policy priorities moving forward.

  • An open forum for member discussion and questions with leadership of SHANYS and HANYS.
