Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative: Strategies for Successful Physician and Pharmacist Collaboration

Through our Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative, HANYS is supporting members as they accelerate their focus on antibiotic stewardship utilizing CDC' Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs‌ as a framework. An important Core Elements strategy is the close collaboration between epidemiology, infection prevention, and pharmacy to monitor, analyze, and question antibiotic use to ensure optimal utilization, and minimize unintended consequences.

Session six in HANYS' Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative programming discusses strategies for successful physician and pharmacist collaboration. The program will feature an interactive role play demonstration of several interventions, and will provide opportunities for questions.

During this webinar, HANYS' staff will also review statewide aggregate reports of antibiotic utilization for members of the collaborative and provide instructions for interpreting confidential, hospital-specific reports.

Please note: This webinar will be hosted through AdobeConnect, with the option for participants to connect via webcam, in addition to the typical audio connection.

All member hospitals are encouraged to attend. Collaborative participation is not a requirement to register for this program.
