Your Cybersecurity Risk: HANYS Cyber Experts Offer Anti-Phishing Exercises and More

October 18, 2016

4 - 5 p.m.

This is a HANYS-Member Only Event.

This webinar is sponsored by HANYS Health Information Technology (HIT) Strategy Group—a group of HANYS’ member chief information officer and chief medical informatics officers from around the state, Co-Chaired by David Mendelson, M.D., The Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Matthew Shafiroff, M.D., Stellaris Health. This cybersecurity session is offered as part of a series of educational programs on cybersecurity for hospitals and health systems. Cyber risk and critical prevention efforts, including anti-phishing solutions will be addressed, and valuable opportunities for your organization to participate in free phishing exercises will be provided.

We strongly encourage you to attend, as hospitals and health systems are facing significant cybersecurity risks that continue to evolve. The healthcare sector is a prime target for cyber-attack, yet it lags other sectors in understanding, sophistication, and implementation of cybersecurity best practices.

Featured Speakers:

  • HANYS’ cyber security consultants, CyberWA, led by Will Pelgrin, former President of the Center for Internet Security, Founder of MS-ISAC, and Chair of the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), of which HANYS is a member;
  • Adnan Baykal, former Vice President of Operations for the Center for Internet Security and Global Technology Adviser for GCA.

CyberWA has vast experience at the state, federal, and international levels collaborating with policymakers and law enforcement to address cyber risk. Through these efforts and our partnership with GCA, HANYS is working to help members identify a path to improved cyber hygiene, as prevention is the most important step you can take to thwart cyber attacks.
