Understanding the KLAS HIT Assessment

November 3, 2009

3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

HANYS has partnered with KLAS to offer HANYS members, at a discounted fee, a customized assessment your current HIT choices. KLAS is one of the industry’s most respected resources for accurate and impartial information on HIT vendor and professional service performance. This webconference will provide details on this unique HIT assessment.

Who should attend

Professionals working in the following areas are appropriate for this:

  • Executive Staff
  • Reimbursement Staff
  • Information Technology Staff
  • Quality Staff

What you will learn

Participants will understand how the KLAS HIT Assessment package will help them evaluate the current state of your HIT choices to:

  • assess your hospital’s specific challenges and risks associated with meeting certain clinical milestones–such as computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and physician/nurse documentation–that are likely to be associated with the soon-to-be-defined term “meaningful use,” as prescribed in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009;
  • benchmark your hospital’s HIT choices and vendor relationships against other hospitals of similar size and character; and
  • identify gaps between your hospital’s HIT investments and clinical strategy.
