Introduction to Medicare

As your organization begins to confront the impact of health care reform, you need to understand how Medicare reimbursement policies and procedures work, and how they are changing.
Introduction to Medicare will provide a clear understanding of the fundamentals of the various Medicare hospital payment systems, including cost-based reimbursement, Prospective Payment Systems (PPSs), and fee schedule payment.
Who should attend
Introduction to Medicare will benefit those who:
- are new to the world of Medicare reimbursement;
- need help making the important link between clinical and financial information;
- struggle to explain what recent legislative and policy changes mean to your hospital; or
- have difficulty explaining the importance of Medicare to the media and your community.
What you will learn
At the conclusion of this program, you will:
- understand the impact of health care reform on Medicare;
- have a clear understanding of how Medicare determines reimbursement rates;
- be able to estimate Medicare payments for your facility; and
- know the language and terminology of PPSs.

Registration Deadline is 10/21/2010. Cancellations less a 25% cancellation fee will be accepted until 10/15/2010. Cancellations after that time are not eligible for a refund. Substitutions are always encouraged even at the last minute.
