October 21-22, 2010
Saratoga Springs, NY

The Hilton
534 Broadway

This conference is for HANYS' members only.

HANYS' acclaimed Strategies, Weapons And Tactics (SWAT ) program, which provides hospitals with technical and tactical training to better deal and negotiate with insurance plans, is back! SWAT IV – Strategies, Weapons, and Tactics for Dealing with Payers in the Federal Health Care Reform Environment - will provide you and your hospital with the tools necessary to embrace new payment and delivery system models while achieving a successful negotiation stance with payers.

Who should attend

  • Chief Financial Officers
  • Directors of Managed Care
  • Directors of Patient Accounts
  • Directors of Reimbursement
  • Legal Counsel

What will you learn

Participants in this program will:

  • get insight into the aggressive approaches insurers are increasingly using to "blow up" stalemated negotiations, reduce payment, steer patients, and pressure providers;
  • hear lessons learned from all aspects of the termination battle — how to assess whether you can "win," how to go about aligning support, and how to make the decision to terminate;
  • explore the challenges and opportunities of engaging and persuading physician stakeholders to be critical partners in the transformation of payment and delivery models;
  • assess your organization's structure and readiness to determine which models — global payments, bundled payments, patient-centered medical homes, and ACOs — are appropriate;
  • understand how federal reform is changing payer behavior; and
  • learn how you can partner with payers and employers.
