Indigent Care Pool Distribution

HANYS and Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) will co-sponsor a Webconference on the Indigent Care Pool distribution including the conversion of the Professional Education Pool (PEP) Pool and the Disproportionate Share (DSH) Hospital Audit.

Who should attend

Professionals working in the following areas are appropriate for this:

  • Chief Financial Officers
  • Directors of Reimbursement

Preparation

Go to HANYS website to get the following:

  • 2009 Indigent Care Pool Distributions:
  • 2009 Indigent Care Cash Plan;
  • 2009 Project DSH Caps;
  • 2009 PEP/DSH Conversion and other Pool Distribution; and
  • 2010 PEP/DSH Conversion and other Pool Distribution efine the concept of resiliency

These documents were supplied by DOH. DOH has also posted the calculation of indigent care need under both the cost-based (current) methodology and the uninsured utilization-based based methodology. Also available are the DRAFT material for the DSH audit including the reporting schedule and instructions, DOH’s Dear Administrator letter, along with HANYS comment letter sent that was sent to DOH on June 18.
