Quality-Driven Payment Programs for FFY 2015

HANYS’ will host a Webconference on April 10 at 2 p.m. will provide an overview of the quality-driven payment programs for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2015: Hospital-Acquired Conditions (HAC) Reduction Program, Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program, and the Medicare Readmissions Reduction Program.
As mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the HAC Reduction Program subjects hospitals whose risk-adjusted HAC rates fall in the top quartile of total HAC scores to a 1.0% penalty to total inpatient payments, beginning FFY 2015. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its methodology for determining these scores in the August 19, 2013, Federal Register. HANYS will walk through the new hospital-specific HAC Reduction Program reports and how they can be used to track performance.
In addition, HANYS will provide an update on the VBP and Medicare Readmissions Reductionp for FFY 2015.
