A Strategic Program Inventory: Connecting the Dots Between the CHNA and Community Benefit Reporting - Evaluation & Impact

Learning objectives:

  • understand the important components of a program inventory;
  • linking programs to needs;
  • how to find the programs to report;
  • what counts as community benefit (including the framework and some recent questions posted to the “What Counts” Web site);
  • determine what to measure and design the program to meet planned outcomes;
  • successes and pitfalls from actual hospital program inventories;
  • resource allocation;
  • program restructuring; and
  • audit control.

Faculty

Trina S. Hackensmith, Vice President and lead trainer at Lyon Software will expand on community benefit program reportingand go beyond the standard discussion of “what counts” framework. Trina joined Lyon Software in 2006 and has trained hospitals and health systems on how to use the CBISA™ program.

Caron Lanouette, Hospital Community Benefit Consultant at Community Benefit Consulting, LLC, will share her expertise in helping hospitals come into compliance with the IRS Schedule H. She has been consulting with hospitals on Community Benefit subject matters since 2008.
