DOH Hospital Profiles Website Webinar

At HANYS’ request, the Department of Health (DOH) will join us for this webinar to clarify aspects of the Hospital Profiles website and respond to members’ questions.

The newly revamped Hospital Profiles website centralizes hospital quality data previously housed across various DOH websites, and provides enhanced graphics and capabilities for conducting searches and comparisons.

The site provides data about hospital services, bed types, and designations, and displays information across four domains: quality measures, maternity care, surgical care, and DOH inspection findings. The data are derived from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Hospital Compare website, DOH hospital-acquired infection reports, and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality composite patient safety and inpatient quality indicators for all payers. DOH has indicated that skilled nursing facility and home care data will be added soon.

It is one of the most frequently visited DOH websites and the newly enhanced version is likely to draw additional attention from consumers and the media.
