Information for non-member registration

HANYS often collaborates with other health care associations across New York State to offer educational programs, and assists in handling registration. Non-members of HANYS registering for these programs must obtain a HANYS user ID and password to register. The user ID and password will allow non-members to register for appropriate programs, but will not permit logging on to HANYS' Web site or registering for member-only events.

I am being asked to enter my password. I do not have a HANYS password, or I can't remember it. What should I do?

After you have entered your user ID (your e-mail address), our registration system searches our database for a record containing the e-mail address entered. If the e-mail address is found, that means your record is in our database, and you already have a HANYS password assigned to you. The registration system automatically asks you for your password.

If you do not know, or have forgotten your password, click "Forget or Need Password?" You will be directed to request that your password be sent to your e-mail address.

My e-mail address was not found. What should I do?

After you have entered your e-mail, our registration system searches our database for a record containing the e-mail address entered. If the e-mail address is not found, you are given a chance to enter an alternative e-mail address (i.e., one that may have been used to sign up for a previous program.)

If you do not have an alternative e-mail address to enter, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen. The registration program will guide you in creating a record for yourself and registering for the program.

E-mail address for members creating a new account

Members creating a new record must use your work e-mail address for verification of membership. Otherwise, the system will not allow you to register for member-only programs.

My e-mail address and password were accepted, but the event I want to register for is not listed. What should I do?

The most common reason for not being allowed to register is that the program is for HANYS' members only and we cannot verify you as an employee of one of our member facilities. Our registration system verifies new registrants by their work e-mail address. If you have created a record using, for example, a home e-mail address, the system cannot verify you as a member and blocks you from registering for member-only programs.

Another reason may be the program has reached registration capacity and will not allow any further registrations.

I have switched employers, but cannot update some of the information on my record. What should I do?

If you realize during your registration that your record needs to be updated and you are unable to make some of the changes directly, please exit the registration process completely and call (518) 431-7834 to ensure timely registration.

However, you do not need to wait until you register for a program to update your information. We want to ensure you continue to receive important information and services. When you switch employers, especially from one member facility to another, please e-mail info@hanys.org with both your old and new information (title, facility, address, telephone, fax, and e-mail address) and HANYS will update your record.

Can I register for a fee-based program and send HANYS a check later?

No, registration for all programs must be completed online. Most of our educational programs are free. However, if a fee is charged, payment must be made with a credit card at the end of the registration process to confirm your space. HANYS no longer accepts checks or purchase orders.

Can I register more than one person at a time?

No, only one registration can be completed at a time. (See "Can I register someone else using my e-mail address and password?")

Can I register someone else using my e-mail address and password?

No, each registrant needs to use his or her own unique e-mail address and HANYS' password to register for a program, and no one can register using someone else's access information.

How do I know if my registration has been accepted?

At the end of the registration process, a confirmation number is given that can be printed out. Additionally, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the registrant's e-mail address.

Please note that during registration, the "Cart" page allows you to review the event you are registering for, and the total price, if applicable. This is not a confirmation of registration. You must hit the "Check Out" button at the bottom of the screen and proceed until you receive a confirmation number.

Registering for a Webconference

Can I register one person and forward login instructions to multiple sites?

A registration for a Webconference accounts for one telephone line to be used to dial in for the audio portion. There is a capacity limit on how many people can dial into our Webconferences. Accurate registration counts are needed to ensure we do not exceed capacity and prevent other registrants from logging onto the Webconference. In such cases, unregistered participants may be expelled from the Webconference.

We intend to view the Webconference in a conference room and invite other employees to participate. Do I have to register everyone who will be there?

No, you do not need to register everyone who will be in the room viewing the Webconference. If capturing other participants' information is necessary, HANYS will provide a sign-in sheet to be filled out and returned.

How do I log into the Webconference once I am registered?

Login instructions and program materials are e-mailed approximately two business days before the Webconference.
