Emerging Infectious Diseases: Moving Forward with Lessons Learned from Ebola

June 5, 2015

10 - 11 a.m.

Join HANYS and GNYHA for this webinar to hear about emerging infectious diseases and learn from experts about maintaining preparedness at hospitals.

This webinar will include lessons learned from Laura Evans, M.D., Medical Director of Critical Care, Bellevue Hospital Center, who led the successful treatment of New York’s Ebola case. Other speakers include representatives from the New York State Department of Health and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, who will provide an update on their preparedness work with the healthcare community.

As the Ebola outbreak subsides, hospitals continue to prepare for emerging infectious diseases. Delays in identification and isolation of suspect patients and improper use of personal protective equipment can result in debilitating staff and community exposures, even with diseases less virulent than Ebola. Webinar attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts about maintaining preparedness at hospitals for emerging infectious diseases.
