Guide to New York's Out-of-Network Law

HANYS developed a Guide to the Out-of-Network Consumer Protection Law to help members understand the significant out-of-network insurance reform contained in the final 2014-2015 state budget. This Webconference will provide members with an overview of the law's provisions. HANYS worked closely with the Department of Financial Services and the State Legislature on the hospital provisions contained in the law, supported its passage, and is hopeful that the law will:

• provide a reasonable and appropriate method to determine compensation for physicians; and
• create an independent dispute resolution entity that works effectively.

The topics covered will help members prepare for when the law takes effect.
