CMS Releases New Data on Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Payments
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the latest payment data for the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Payment programs. The data show that 30 New York hospitals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive payments successfully registered, attested, and drew down $64 million collectively in Medicare incentive payments, through March.
Nationwide, 911 eligible hospitals have received a total of $1.6 billion Medicare incentive payments through the end of March, an increase from the 796 hospitals that had received payment at the end of February. The list of eligible hospitals by state who have received Medicare incentive payment is available on CMS’ Web site.
CMS data show that 37 eligible hospitals in New York State have drawn down a total of $52 million in Medicaid EHR Incentive payments. Nationally, more than $2 billion in Medicaid incentive payments have been made to 1,756 eligible hospitals between January 2011 and the end of March 2012.
