Senator Clinton Introduces Bill to Address Shortage of Health Care Professionals

Bookmark and Share

Yesterday, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) introduced HANYS-endorsed legislation that would take steps to address the shortage of health care professionals in New York and the nation. The Health Professional and Primary Care Reinvestment Act of 2008 includes provisions that would help individuals choose health care as a career, guiding them toward the communities most in need and into primary care practices. These provisions would help relieve the serious pressures communities are experiencing because of the shortage of health professionals. HANYS is grateful for Senator Clinton’s efforts and longstanding support of New York State’s hospitals and health systems. A press release describing the bill is available online.
