HANYS Celebrates National Hospital Week

ALBANY, N.Y. — During National Hospital Week, May 7 - 13, 2017, the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) thanks all hospitals across New York State, and beyond, for their tireless dedication to fulfilling their mission of providing needed care to all.

“HANYS joins in celebrating our hospitals for all that they do every day,” said Bea Grause, President, HANYS. “Our hospitals provide compassionate care to our communities; deliver needed healthcare services to all, regardless of ability to pay; reach out to help under-served populations; train physicians and other healthcare professionals; stand ready 24/7 to respond to emergencies and disasters, and so much more.”

During National Hospital Week, HANYS is sharing stories about the amazing work that hospitals do across New York State to improve the health of individuals and communities. Despite financial challenges, New York’s hospitals and health systems are committed to transforming care delivery with a goal of achieving a more patient-centered healthcare system that achieves the “Triple Aim” of better health, better care, and lower costs.

To this end, in communities across the state, hospitals are offering innovative new programs that enhance and coordinate patient care, improve efficiency, and safeguard patient safety—learn more on HANYS’ website.

Hospitals are places of refuge and healing, where life begins and health is restored. Our hospitals and health systems are also major employers and important economic engines, fostering vibrant communities.

Hospitals use incredible new technologies and evidence-based protocols that save lives. Yet, it is the human touch of the people who deliver care at our hospitals that makes a real difference.

“From frontline physicians and nurses, to therapists, administrators, volunteers, and food service workers, we owe a debt of gratitude to all of the dedicated men and women who devote their lives to caring for others at our hospitals,” said Ms. Grause.

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York State, representing 500 non-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, and other healthcare organizations.
