9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Interdisciplinary Medical Device Panel
Leaders from the public and private sector will participate in a panel discussion focused on the latest efforts to prevent, address, and mitigate cybersecurity threats and attacks facing the healthcare sector. Confirmed panelists include Suzanne Schwartz, M.D., M.B.A., Associate Director for Science and Strategic Partnerships in the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of the Center Director; Nicholas P. Heesters, Jr., MEng, JD, CIPP, Health Information Privacy & Security Specialist in the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights; Zach Rothstein, Esq., Associate Vice President of Technology and Regulatory Affairs for Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed); and Jim Jacobson, Chief Product and Solution Security Officer for Siemens Healthcare.

Dale Nordenberg, M.D., Executive Director of Medical Device Innovation, Safety, and Security Consortium (MDISS), and Axel Wirth, Distinguished Solutions Architect, US Healthcare Industry, Symantec Corporation, will co-present keynote remarks.

11:15 – 11:45 a.m. CISO Discussion: Device Security Strategy
Chief Information Security Officers, Jennings Aske of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Michael Pinch of the University of Rochester and University of Rochester Medical Center and Kenneth Brancik, Ph.D. of The Mount Sinai Health System, and Hai Ngo of NYU Langone Health, will discuss best practices being implemented at their health systems to address cybersecurity of medical devices.

11:45 a.m. – Noon Closing remarks
U.S. Congressman Daniel Donovan (R-Staten Island), a member of the House Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee, will provide closing remarks a brief update on efforts in Washington to confront cybersecurity challenges.
