HANYS Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative: Building an Effective Long-Term Care Antibiotic Stewardship Program

January 30, 2018

4 - 5 p.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members Only.

Our January 30 program will feature experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Duke University School of Medicine who will share considerations for antibiotic stewardship in long-term care settings.

Rapidly growing concerns about the rise in drug-resistant infections have prompted changes across the continuum of care. Most recently, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) required long-term care facilities to put in place an antibiotic stewardship program in November 2017.

Members will have the opportunity to learn more about the unique implications of antibiotic stewardship in long-term care settings and ask questions of experts in the field.

Featured Speakers:

  • Sarah Kabbani, MD, MSc., Adult Infectious Disease Physician and Medical Officer, Office of Antibiotic Stewardship, Division of Health Quality Promotion, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention=
  • Elizabeth Dodds Ashley, PharmD, M.H.S., F.C.C.P., B.C.P.S., Duke University Medical Center
