Antibiograms: Basics to ground-breaking practices

Through our Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative, HANYS is supporting members as you accelerate your focus on antibiotic stewardship. The Collaborative uses the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs as a framework and includes support for National Healthcare Safety Network reporting readiness.

Our March 26 the program will be held in response to member questions about how to best leverage and appropriately use antibiograms to advance antibiotic stewardship across the care continuum. Participants will have the opportunity to hear about the basics of antibiograms, current recommendations, innovative projects and details about the New York City antibiogram project.

Featured Speakers:

  • Sharon Erdman, PharmD, Clinical professor, infectious diseases clinical pharmacist, Purdue University. Sharon is a member of The Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute’s M39 Working Group on the Analysis and Presentation of Cumulative Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test Data
  • Kenya Murray, MPH, CPH, Bureau of Communicable Disease, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Kenya manages NYCDOHMH’s NYC-wide antibiogram project
