Medicare IPPS Proposed Rule/Wage Index

HANYS is continuing to look closely at major provisions of the Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System proposed rule, including the wage index proposal that will move Medicare funding out of New York, and the full implementation of Medicare Worksheet S-10 for Disproportionate Share Hospital payment purposes.

This webinar will cover major content areas and provide an opportunity for members to ask questions. HANYS will also seek feedback in key areas to guide the development of our comment letter on the rule.

Our preliminary analysis of the wage index provision indicates significant impacts for HANYS’ members — especially in Long Island, New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area, with no New York hospitals benefiting from the proposed policy. HANYS will relay more detail on the impact of this policy soon.
