Vaccine Hesitancy: Evolving Practices for Clinicians

July 31, 2019
Webinar

4 - 4:30 p.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members and Non-Members.

Through our Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative, HANYS is supporting members as you accelerate your focus on antibiotic stewardship. The Collaborative uses the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs as a framework, and includes support for National Healthcare Safety Network reporting readiness.

In response to member requests for additional support in addressing the measles outbreak and other vaccine-preventable infections, HANYS is pleased to host a focused webinar designed for busy clinicians. This 30-minute event will provide novel tools for working with patients to address vaccine hesitancy.

Vaccine hesitancy is widely recognized as a major challenge to preventing and controlling infections. Clinicians are at the forefront of addressing concerns and misinformation from patients and their communities. Kristin Oliver, MD, MHS, assistant professor and pediatrician, The Mount Sinai Hospital, will share thoughtful and creative approaches to guiding patients toward vaccination, such as motivational interviewing.

Featured Speaker:

  • Kristin Oliver, MD, MHS, assistant professor, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health
