HANYS Hospital Specific PSI-90 Analytic Reports

Patient Safety Indicator 90 is widely recognized as a composite measure that does not accurately reflect hospital performance. CMS’ own analysis shows that it is designed in a way that cannot discriminate among events and accurately capture what is intended.

PSI-90 has financial and reputational impacts. The measure is publicly reported on Hospital Compare, is a significant driver of the CMS Overall Star Ratings Safety domain and is included in the Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program.

HANYS continues to advocate for the removal of PSI-90 from CMS quality reporting programs. This 30-minute webinar will demonstrate the HANYS creation of a new, interactive, web-based hospital-specific analytics report designed to support hospitals in understanding the complexities of PSI-90.
