Coronavirus: Strategies and Tools to Prepare Your Organization for Emerging Infections

January 27, 2020
Webinar

3 - 4 p.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members and Non Members

Description: In late December, an outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pneumonia was identified. Since then, public health authorities and scientists have been monitoring the new virus closely to understand potential impacts. As surveillance continues, reported cases are increasing. The first U.S. case of 2019 Novel Coronavirus has been identified in a traveler who recently returned to Washington state from Wuhan, China. As the situation evolves, HANYS will continue providing updates.

CDC, DOH and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are urging clinicians to be vigilant and put in place measures to rapidly identify patients potentially ill with 2019-nCoV, implement appropriate infection control precautions and report suspect cases immediately.

DOH issued an advisory including updates and a reminder of requirements to maintain readiness for emerging infections in the 2014 Commissioner's Order (updated in 2015).
