Government Relations Advocacy Strategy Session

November 20, 2020
Webinar

10 a.m. - noon

Registration is open to HANYS Members Only.

GRASS 2021 provides a unique opportunity for HANYS member government affairs representatives to dialogue about top priorities and provide input on our 2021 state and federal advocacy agendas. HANYS staff and special guest speakers will provide the latest political and policy updates from Albany and Washington.

This event will promote a dialogue about recurring and emerging healthcare policy issues following the 2020 elections and ahead of the 2021 legislative sessions at both the state and federal level. Given the extraordinary fiscal and political pressures the COVID-19 emergency has created, our unified and collective advocacy will provide critical support to post-pandemic recovery efforts.

See the program agenda.

The Nov. 20 program will feature guest speaker Matthew Dowd, chief political analyst for ABC News:

Unpredicted and Unprecedented: How We Got Here and Where We’re Going. With three decades spent crafting campaigns and reporting on the latest news out of Washington, Matt Dowd has his finger on the pulse of the latest happenings on Capitol Hill, Wall Street, in Silicon Valley and on Main Street. Blending historical anecdotes and current events, Dowd offers an overview of how we got to this “unique, disruptive moment in our country’s history,” what we can do now to regain control of our democracy, and his personal viewpoint of where we’re headed. Specifically, he dives into the 2020 election and how the current volatility in economy, politics and health is creating tremendous unpredictability for one of the most consequential elections of our time. Jam-packed with real insights and “aha” moments, Dowd’s talk is a fast-paced, customizable look at how and why a new America is taking shape — plus how that new America will look and feel for politicians, businesses and civilians.

Part 2 will be held: Dec. 16 - 10 a.m. to noon
