Nursing Home e-Prescribing Webinar with Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement

New York State’s e-prescribing mandate, effective March 27, 2015, is contained in amendments to Title 10 NYCRR Part 80 Rules and Regulations on Controlled Substances, authorized by the New York State Prescription Drug Act of 2012, which was effective on March 27, 2013.
The major process changes created by the mandate are occurring between prescribers of drugs (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) and the pharmacies receiving those electronic prescriptions to dispense drugs.
This free Webconference will feature staff from the Department of Health's Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, who will present information about the e-prescribing mandate and discuss with participants the implications for changing operational and workflow processes. In preparation for the Webconference, members are encouraged to review the e-prescribing mandate and the State Education Department’s frequently asked questions on e-prescribing.
HANYS is collaborating with the Continuing Care leadership Coalition, LeadingAgeNY, and the New York State Health Facilities Association to present this program.
