Carthage Area Hospital unveiled Heath Beats magazine in July, an upscale publication aimed at educating the community and patients on available hospital services, providers, and wellness. The hospital will publish Health Beats twice this year, with a second issue planned for mid-October. In 2018, Health Beats will be published quarterly, with each issue focused on population health and prevention while also spotlighting local doctors and providers, said Taylour Scanlin, Carthage Area Hospital marketing director.
The premiere issue is 16 pages and was direct-mailed to roughly 13,000 demographically targeted households across the hospital’s service area and distributed to internal and external stakeholders. The cover story offers an exclusive look at the hospital’s orthopedic team and profiles upper extremity specialist and surgeon Dr. Nata Parnes. Feature stories include spotlights on the emergency, obstetrics, and clinical nutrition teams, as well as a look at the hospital’s Auxiliary, Foundation, and Meadowbrook Terrace assisted living facility.
Nearly four months in development, the magazine is an undertaking of the hospital’s marketing team and was led by Ken Eysaman, Carthage Area Hospital strategic communications associate. Visit issuu.com/cahhealthbeats/docs/summer2017 to read a digital edition of the magazine.
