Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on the House-passed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”
A strong healthcare system supports the health of New Yorkers, creates good jobs and forms a solid economic foundation for local communities. The House-passed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” puts all that at risk. This exceedingly harmful legislation, if enacted into law, will cut the health coverage of 1.5 million New Yorkers and reduce access to care for millions more. The proposed hospital reimbursement cuts will lead to job loss and service reductions in urban, suburban and rural communities across New York.
HANYS, working in partnership with our senators and the American Hospital Association, will do everything we can to eliminate these catastrophic healthcare proposals in the U.S. Senate.
