Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD on the U.S. Senate's latest version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act

More than 1.5 million New Yorkers will lose health coverage and millions more will lose access to care under the latest iteration of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act just passed by the U.S. Senate. With New York's hospitals set to lose billions per year under this bill, job losses and service reductions are inevitable in communities across New York. And when good-paying healthcare jobs are lost, local economies and communities will suffer. But there is still one last chance to stop these catastrophic outcomes. HANYS urges the New York congressional delegation to reject this bill and preserve healthcare for all New Yorkers.
