Opioid Addiction Prevention & Management Collaborative
Opioid and heroin addiction continues to have a devastating impact on communities throughout New York State and across the nation. HANYS is committed to working with our members on opioid addiction prevention and management efforts, as stakeholders at all levels—federal, state, and local law makers, payers and healthcare providers, families, and communities—respond to this epidemic.
HANYS’ Statewide Steering Committee on Quality Initiatives has identified opioid and heroin addiction prevention as a priority issue. In response, HANYS has launched a statewide Collaborative to help members prevent opioid addiction and manage the care of patients in crisis.
The Opioid Addiction Prevention and Management Collaborative will include education, networking opportunities, and resources designed to support New York healthcare providers’ efforts to prevent opioid addiction, treat this as a chronic condition, and advance the community dialogue while appropriately managing patients with pain.
The resources and information on these pages are provided to assist HANYS members in advancing and refining their own campaigns to address this crisis within their facilities and beyond. With access to critical information in one location, we intend to streamline the healthcare community’s time spent locating resources.
