HANYS’ comment letters

Recently, HANYS submitted comments to the New York State Education Department supporting emergency proposed regulations related to molecular testing and to CMS voicing urgent concerns about a nursing home staffing proposal.


State legislative activity

Last week, Gov. Hochul signed the following bill of interest into law:

  • Community doula directory - Chapter 607 of the Laws of 2023

State regulatory activity

This week’s update includes proposed PPE regulations for hospitals and nursing homes and the adoption of educational requirements for registered and licensed practical nurses. CMS awards Round 2 GME slots

Of the 200 Medicare-supported Graduate Medical Education residency slots across the country, 18 New York hospitals received positions.
