A form of immunotherapy that uses monoclonal antibodies to bind to certain cells or proteins to stimulate the patient's immune system to attack those cells. In November 2020 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization for the monoclonal antibody therapy bamlanivimab for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adult and pediatric patients.
