Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on DOH’s interim guidance for COVID-19 testing

HANYS strongly supports the New York State Department of Health’s interim guidance on COVID-19 testing. This new protocol will help hospitals and local public health departments statewide prioritize limited testing capacity. The guidance also provides New Yorkers critically important education about when they could expect to be tested. We appreciate the governor and DOH’s tireless efforts to increase testing capacity, make sure providers and local health departments have necessary resources, and keep the public informed of new developments.

The Healthcare Association of New York State is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York, representing nonprofit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies and other healthcare organizations.
