Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on executive order allowing state to redistribute equipment

Hospitals across the state of New York have stepped up to the plate, unified in the fight to combat COVID-19. Many hospitals have already redeployed staff and equipment to hard-hit communities; others have received patients transferred from these areas. Our hospitals will continue to rise to the occasion. They will strike the right balance, protecting their local community members while doing everything they can to save lives throughout New York. HANYS is working intensely to support our members’ efforts and will continue to be vocal on behalf of our hospitals to make sure supplies and staff are where they are needed, when they are needed.

The Healthcare Association of New York State is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York, representing nonprofit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies and other healthcare organizations.
