Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on Gov. Hochul’s 2022 State of the State address
HANYS is incredibly grateful to Gov. Hochul for her historic and bold commitment to rebuild and grow New York’s healthcare workforce. The governor’s proposed $10 billion investment in healthcare is critically needed by providers and staff across the care continuum, particularly amid the devastating, ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The enhanced flexibilities, modernized oversight and significant investments included in the healthcare agenda Gov. Hochul laid out today will have immense positive impacts. We thank Gov. Hochul for her dedication to the health of New Yorkers and the caregivers and organizations who serve them. We look forward to working with Gov. Hochul and the Legislature in 2022 to ensure that these key healthcare investments and priorities are swiftly achieved and sustained in the years ahead.
