Innovation Spotlight— Arnot Health Achieves High Rates in Hypertension Control

Hypertension can do damage to your health before symptoms are even recognizable and put you at risk for heart attack and stroke. One in three Americans have hypertension and only 54% of those patients have their condition under control. Arnot Health has achieved the highest rates of hypertension control in the nine county Finger Lakes region, according to data released by the High Blood Pressure Collaborative in Rochester. Innovation Spotlight—Mount Sinai Health System Combats C. Difficile Infection

Clostridium difficile (C. diff) is a potentially life-threatening bacterium that most commonly affects older adults, and individuals without a history of antibiotic use. The majority of C. diff infections occur in, or after exposure to, healthcare settings and they are becoming more frequent, severe, and difficult to treat. In 2016, Mount Sinai Health System made reducing hospital-onset C. diff infection (HO-CDI), across all their sites, a top priority.
