Registration deadline approaching for HTNYS’ trustee event on the future of healthcare

Online registration will close on Nov. 6 for HTNYS’ Rochester and Western New York trustee event being held Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Strathallan Hotel in Rochester. Healthcare trustees should plan to attend this complimentary educational program that includes cocktails, networking and dinner.


Emmanuel Fombu, MD, MBA, will present, “The Future of Healthcare: Humans and Machines Partnering for Better Outcomes.” Dr. Fombu is a medical futurist and recognized authority on the convergence of digital technologies and healthcare. He will discuss what the future of healthcare looks like to help trustees be proactive in leading their organizations into the future. As new players enter this sector with the aim of improving quality of care while reducing overall cost, boards and CEOs should be thinking, questioning and strategizing now on how to navigate through the disruption. Member Spotlight – Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital confronts mental health crises

Immediate and appropriate prehospital interventions for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis are essential to ensuring they receive needed treatment quickly. These interventions also reduce mental health-related emergency department admissions and potential arrests. In 2018, Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital (a member of UR Medicine) implemented a mobile crisis response unit to address this issue.

Experience "Aha!" moments and unique takeaways at our new quality program

Looking to improve your quality improvement team's knowledge and skills? We strongly encourage quality professionals of all experience levels to attend our new Quality Residency Program

An expanded version of HANYS' Quality Bootcamp, this new format offers four months of immersive and practical training in the fundamentals of quality improvement along with coaching, networking opportunities and a forum to apply newly learned skills.   

The Quality Residency Program will begin with an in-person session at HANYS in Rensselaer on Nov. 14, followed by five 90-minute virtual educational sessions. The Quality Residency Program will culminate with an in-person capstone event in Tarrytown on March 31, 2020.
