Special enrollment period extended for additional 30 days
New York state has extended the special enrollment period for uninsured New Yorkers through Sept. 15. Individuals can apply for coverage through NYSOH or directly through insurers. Individuals who have lost employer coverage must apply within 60 days of losing that coverage and individuals who have lost income may be eligible for Medicaid, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus or subsidized Qualified Health Plans.
Individuals who enroll in a QHP through NYSOH or directly through insurers by Sept. 15 will have a choice of coverage start date of either Sept. 1 or Oct. 1. Contact: Vic Aufiero

The sudden onset of the coronavirus pandemic caused fear and anxiety among New Yorkers. Steps to stem the spread of the virus such as social distancing made many feel isolated and lonely, increasing already elevated emotional distress. Pivoting to meet the needs of the Hudson Valley community during the COVID-19 crisis, WMCHealth launched a Virtual Health and Wellness Series to provide these services remotely.
