Infrastructure plan would bolster “care economy”

President Biden this week released The American Jobs Plan, kicking off what will likely be a months-long campaign to build support for the multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure and jobs proposal. The plan includes investment for critical infrastructure — including hospitals — in vulnerable communities and calls for $400 billion to bolster the “care economy” including expanding access to long-term care services under Medicaid and an additional $100 billion to ensure access to affordable broadband.

HANYS continues to work closely with key members of New York’s congressional delegation and our partners in Washington to build the case for investment in our healthcare infrastructure. Contact: Elyse Oveson

  • Authorizing caregiving visitation in RHCFs during emergencies (Chapter 89 of 2021)
  • Humane Alternatives to Long-Term (HALT) Solitary Confinement Act (Chapter 93 of 2021)
