New blog post: Infrastructure plan must include investments in hospitals, healthcare
Infrastructure is the talk of the town in D.C. as the Biden administration and Congress negotiate what may ultimately be a massive spending package. HANYS President Bea Grause’s latest blog post explores why investment in hospital and healthcare infrastructure must be a priority for our federal government this year.
Biden pitches American Families Plan
In his address to a joint session of Congress, President Biden pitched his American Families Plan, a $1.8 trillion proposal to expand family and medical leave, child care, healthcare coverage and education.
Among other changes, it would make enhanced subsidies for insurance purchased on the healthcare exchange permanent and introduce a public option.
It would also allow Medicare to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs and lower the age of eligibility to 60. Contact: Elyse Oveson
