HANYS testifies on nursing home workforce challenges
During a joint public hearing this week, HANYS reiterated our commitment to supporting high-quality care across the state and provided recommendations on how the state can help us reach our shared goals. “Inadequate Medicaid reimbursement has placed severe financial limitations on not-for-profit nursing homes and diminishes their ability to offer competitive wages, benefits and career growth opportunities for their direct care staff.” Read our full testimony online.
Senate votes to debate nearly $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure framework
The use of COVID-19 provider relief funds to pay for the package — a provision strongly opposed by HANYS — is not among the offsets in the discussion draft, thanks to the strong advocacy of HANYS members, AHA and our other partners in Washington. Unfortunately, HANYS-opposed sequestration cuts are included in the draft.
