Survey findings: New Yorkers are losing access to care as a fiscal crisis hammers hospitals statewide

HANYS and our allied associations' new report details how New Yorkers are losing access to healthcare services amid escalating care delivery costs and persistent workforce shortages. It calls on policymakers to make immediate and sustained investments and policy changes to stabilize the healthcare system. HANYS, government relations teams strategize advocacy priorities

HANYS Marketplace® has partnered with EWASTE+, offering HANYS members a full spectrum of technology life cycle management services with a focus on electronics recycling, data destruction and HIPAA compliance. EWASTE+ is a New York state-licensed document and data destruction contractor specializing in the diverse waste streams generated at hospitals and health systems. 


Board oversight tips for financial turnaround

A financial crisis exacerbated by workforce shortages and expense increases is gripping hospitals and health systems. The December edition of Trends offers strategies for boards to effectively oversee the financial turnaround of their organizations and help ensure they survive this long, challenging process. 


Congress staves off government shutdown

The stopgap spending bill passed by the Senate late Thursday extends current funding levels on programs, including HANYS-supported Medicare-dependent Hospital and enhanced Low-volume Adjustment programs, through Dec. 23, and gives lawmakers an extra week to finish a $1.7 trillion year-end spending package. HANYS will continue to monitor and update members on how the end-of-year package will impact the healthcare industry.
