Blue Cross Blue Shield settlement goes into effect

The antitrust case alleged that BCBS and its members worked to suppress competition and provider reimbursement. Provider claims are now being processed in the $2.8 billion settlement, which faced no appeals to the court’s final approval and contains injunctive relief valued at over $17 billion. HANYS worked closely with lead plaintiffs’ counsel Whatley Kallas to shape strategy, offer insight on BlueCard issues and provide historical context.
