Governor announces capital transformation awards; more expected
On Wednesday, Gov. Cuomo announced $187 million in capital awards to 25 healthcare facilities under the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program III. This announcement covers only a portion of the $300 million in expected awards to hospitals, nursing homes, behavioral health organizations and others. Additional awards will be announced at a later date.
The Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program awards support and improve patient care through the development of high quality medical facilities and programs serving the inpatient, primary care, mental health, substance use disorder and long-term care community. They also help ensure the financial sustainability of safety-net healthcare providers and help to preserve or expand essential healthcare services, including integrated care and behavioral health.
HANYS will continue to advocate for this funding and press for new and ongoing investments to assist struggling hospitals and enable providers to continue to innovate and transform care delivery. Contact: Katie Gordon
