Supreme Court will allow administration to implement devastating public charge rule
The U.S. Supreme Court issued a 5-4 ruling this week to remove the nationwide injunction preventing the Trump administration from enforcing its public charge rule while litigation challenging the rule continues. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a decision on the merits of the rule by the end of the current term.
HANYS is extremely disappointed with the decision and we remain concerned that the policy will harm patients, increase healthcare costs and deter entire populations from accessing critical programs and services for which they are currently eligible. We will continue to work with our members to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to the care they need when they need it. Contact: Sandi Toll
