HHS releases $1.5 billion to states, tribes to combat opioid crisis

The Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is distributing the first-year funds of its two-year State Opioid Response and Tribal Opioid Response grant programs. The two SAMHSA programs will help states and tribes provide community-level resources for people in need of prevention, treatment and recovery support services. New York state received $56,235,022 under the SOR grant program and two New York organizations received a total of $650,000 under the TOR grant program for fiscal year 2020. Contact: Vic Aufiero
