State legislative activity

Last week, the following bills of interest were approved by Gov. Hochul:

  • Medical debt liens and wage garnishment (Chapter 648 of the Laws of 2022);
  • Closure and/or decertification of assisted living residences (Chapter 325 of the Laws of 2022);
  • Occupational therapy services without a referral (Chapter 601 of the Laws of 2022); and
  • Non-invasive prenatal testing (Medicaid) (Chapter 650 of the Laws of 2022).

The following bills were vetoed by Gov. Hochul:

  • Maternal mental health workgroup (Veto No. 80);
  • Primary care reform commission (Veto No. 55); and
  • Early intervention rate review (Veto No. 74).
